FARC would like to send out a Congratulations to Sara Lasker and Leah Schubel, the winners of the John Robbins Volunteer Scholarship for 2009. Both will receive a scholarship amount of $500 to help with school this year. Congrats!!
We need to get a feel in the level of interest for a CPR class. We need to have a minimum of 5 people signed up, and cost is $35 per person. The dates we can do it are Monday July 20th from 7-9 PM, and/or Monday August 3rd from 7-9 PM. If you are interested in attending the CPR class, please RSVP (Edit: by July 7th for the July 20th class) Janice Lasker laskfam@gmail.com and let her know that you'd like to attend, and which date you could make it. If you are a 2008 Grand Prix award winner and still have not picked up your Grand Prix Prizes, including bag, shirt, and *special* prize, Bert Jacoby will be available after the Mental Health 5K on July 19th. Please note he will NOT be available after the Heritage Festival 5 miler on July 4. (Note: Socks will need to be picked up at VA Runner.)

Note: The Spring Track Series has been extended another week to July 7th. Turnout for this years' Spring Track Series has been outstanding. We are seeing students from local high school track teams, parents with their elementary and middle school children, and FARC regulars. We did have to cancel on June 2 and June 9 because of thunderstorms. That's why we decided to add another date to the schedule. The results for the June 30th meet are here.
The FARC Summer Cross Country Series starts July 9th at 6:30 PM and runs every Thursday for 5 weeks. The race is a cross country 5k at Pratt Park. All ages and abilites welcome. Please see the calendar page for more details.
